Hi. Thanks for your detailed information. Since no circumstances are identical I have a couple of queries.
ReplyDelete1. If one wanted to start the process in Lisbon itself, where exactly would one go to register the births and marriages etc.?
2. My paternal grandfather and father births were registered in Goa and I have their Teors. Is this sufficient to prove entitlement? The issues I have are - unable to locate a marriage certificate for my grandfather; my mother's family doesn't seem to have bothered with registering births in Goa for some reason!; my parents did not register their marriage, but I assume I can do that once I get a copy of Marriage Certificate?; and I was born in 1957, so well within Portuguese rule, however I was born in Maharashtra, as I suspect hundreds of other Goans were.
Can I ask how I should proceed, first with documentation and then how and where to go about registering everything directly at Lisbon?
Thanks very much for any assistance.
